Introducing our wonderful sales team, your first point of contact at Angelfish Fieldwork.

At Angelfish, we believe in putting a face to the name. So, allow us to introduce you to the first people you'll connect with—Emma and Harry! They’re here to ensure that your market research recruitment journey is as seamless and insightful as possible.

We asked them a few questions to help you get to know them better—both professionally and personally. Here’s a sneak peek into what makes them the perfect partners to start your market research journey with Angelfish.

Can you tell us a bit about your role at Angelfish Fieldwork and what you enjoy about it?

Emma: I'm the Director of Client Services at Angelfish working alongside Harry, our Client Services Executive. I manage the sales operations here at Angelfish, including creating and implementing strategic sales plans and developing client relationships, as well as working closely with our Co-founder, Lisa, and Director of Operations, Kelly.

My day-to-day role is extremely varied and can include client calls, quoting, commissioning the team, or preparing for internal meetings. My favourite part of my role is collaborating with clients, as each project is so varied depending on topic or approach.

Harry: I'm the Client Services Executive at Angelfish. I'm mostly responsible for the day-to-day inbound quoting and assistance with any open quote requests. I am also regularly on client calls checking in on accounts and offering advice on potential bids and approaches to new research proposals. My favourite part of the role is assisting clients; helping to shape a project from the proposal stage to final commission.

What makes Angelfish Fieldwork special?

Emma: We are honest, and we care! Each project is reviewed individually—we don’t have a standard rate card because we tailor everything to meet the specific needs of each client, based on our previous project/respondent experience.

From the initial consultation, we’re upfront about whether we foresee any tricky element of the criteria and will give feedback to you on this at quotation stage to ensure we can offer our first-class service. This honesty continues through to project management, where we’re open about lead numbers and challenges.

We truly want every project to be a success and want to act as an extension of our client’s team, troubleshooting alongside them to deliver the best results.

What should potential clients expect when they first reach out to you?

Harry: We always strive to respond to any requests as promptly as possible during normal working hours. Our first step is usually to confirm whether we can offer a quote for the project and check in with any additional questions. Ideally, we set up a call to chat about new requests—we love connecting with clients personally and making sure we’re on the same page from the outset.

What’s your favourite part of working with clients on market research projects?

Emma: I love hearing about a project from the client’s perspective at the early stages. Then, it's having the opportunity to work together to discuss samples and methodology to both engage the respondents and provide the client with impactful insights. It’s incredibly rewarding to see a project evolve from the initial discussion to the final outcome.

Harry: For me, it’s the behind-the-scenes insight into new developments and innovations. Knowing that we’ve helped shape research that could influence new products or services, and then seeing those things hit the market, is so satisfying. It’s a great feeling to know we’ve played a part in their journey.

If you could participate in any market research methodology, what would it be and why?

Emma: I’d love to participate in a product or taste-testing project! Trying new things and knowing that my feedback could influence the product development process is exciting. It feels great to know you’re part of something that could make a difference.

Harry: I’d go for a face-to-face focus group. When I worked project side at Angelfish at the start of my market research career, I was lucky enough to help with some face-to-face recruitment in Brighton once. It was amazing to see how a group of strangers—who had never met before—could connect so quickly and get excited about discussing local quirks. Everyone was genuinely engaged, and the energy in the room was fantastic.

If you could be in a focus group with three other people, past or present who would it be and why?

Emma:

  • My gran – It would be wonderful to see her learn about what I do, and her perspective would have been truly interesting.
  • Louis Theroux – I think it would be fascinating to see Louis, who’s usually the one asking the questions, in the hot seat himself. I’d love to hear his thoughts when he’s on the other side of the interview.
  • Rob Beckett – He’d bring so much entertainment to the group. His humour would make for an engaging and fun discussion.

Harry:

  • Roy Keane – He’s a legend, no explanation needed! His straightforward approach and strong opinions would add great value to any discussion.
  • Sam Warburton – A Welsh legend who always provides unbiased insights. His diverse interests would make for an interesting mix of opinions.
  • Dawn French & Jennifer Saunders – I’m cheating a bit, but what’s a group without a bit of comedy? These two would bring chemistry, laughs, and plenty of diverse perspectives to the table.
